ATI's Radeon HD 5970 is now the world's most powerful graphics card, but it's also the most expensive. So it's a bit surprising to learn from Asus Philippines that the projected SRP for their reference HD 5970 is only 21,990 Pesos or about $467 USD. That is damn cheap, and compared to NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 295 which still sits at about 25,000 Pesos or $530 USD, the pricing is ludicrous. Maybe it is too good to be true, but then again, it's not out in the market yet so pricing will probably change. If it doesn't, well, I know what a lot of would-be HD 5870 owners will be getting for Christmas this year. And it still won't be something green.
