Asus ROG Maximus III Extreme LGA1156 Motherboard launched
Not quite satisfied with the current crop of P55 Express chipset-based motherboards in the market? Hold off for a couple of more weeks and you'll be able to get your hands on Asus's latest and greatest. Geared towards gamers and extreme overclockers, the Asus ROG Maximus III Extreme motherboard offers a vast number of features and options which enthusiasts will be eager to jump on.
Besides the eye-catching red and black design, the Asus Maximus III Extreme motherboard offers two x16 links via an additional PCI-Express bridge chip and a default configuration of x8 bandwidth with the simultaneous use of its four PCI-E 2.0 slots. An 11-phase digital PWM circuit which uses a SuperML capacitor powers the CPU socket while a 3-phase circuit powers the board's four DDR3 DIMM memory slots. There are plenty of I/O ports lying at the back including at least a couple of USB 3.0 ports, FireWire, gigabit Ethernet and 10 channel audio.
Exact release date and pricing are currently unknown but these should be available very soon.
