LG Electronics intros XPION S30, A30, and T30 desktop PCs for 2010

LG Electronics has been a household name for years now, but that's because they make appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, and TVs with home theater systems that help us better enjoy our time spent at home. But now it seems the Korean electronics titan is set on making its mark in the desktop PC environment as well, as it officially launches three new desktop PCs in its XPION 30 series range with Intel processors and NVIDIA graphics. The three new desktop PCs are, pictured above from left to right, the XPION A30, T30, and S30. Two have dual core Intel processors while the last one has an i5 750 under the hood. Can you guess which one?

The LG XPION A30 being the thinnest one, it would probably be best suited as a media center much like an Apple iMac or any high-end small-form-factor PC. It runs on Intel's G43 Express chipset and features an Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 processor clocked at 3.06GHz. It also comes with 3GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM, a 500GB SATA hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce GT220 graphics with 1GB of memory, a DVD writer and a built-in card reader.

The LG XPION T30, on the other hand, is a slightly downgraded variation of the above, featuring instead just 2GB of DDR2 800MHz RAM and NVIDIA GeForce G210 graphics with 512MB of memory. Still, it comes with a slightly more spacious 640GB hard drive and the LG XPION A30's other niceties.

Last but not the least is LG's XPION S30 desktop PC which does away with C2D and ships with Intel's Core i5 750 processor, partnered with 3GB of 1066MHz DDR3 memory, a 640GB hard drive, and super-multi DVD writer. What's sort of baffling about this model is that it comes with an NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT GPU with 512MB of memory, which isn't exactly that bad (OK, it is), but I guess LG could have done worse (9500GT with 1GB of GDDR2 memory, anyone?). This model is most likely targeted towards users looking for stylish and yet powerful workstations that run Windows software.

All of these XPION desktop PCs will come with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed as their OS, which further helps in making them capable media center PCs. LG also boasts about their so-called "Smart Care cleaning system" in these PCs which takes care of dust via a side air intake filter and a PC heatsink that consists of a flourine coating process.
