Samsung N150 netbook with Pineview Atom CPU surfaces

It seems each and every netbook manufacturer you can think of has announced their own variation of a new netbook with Intel's Pinetrail Atom CPU running under the hood. Except a few, and one of those few is Samsung. So does this mean that Samsung won't be part of the Intel Atom N450 CPU bandwagon? Of course not. The company probably forgot to issue an announcement, or perhaps they ran out of ink while they were printing out the press release. Fortunately, the FCC and an online retail site named Neobits were glad to help Samsung let loose a few pieces of information about their upcoming Pinetrail Atom-based netbook.

According to documents available on the FCC's web site and Neobits, Samsung's got a certain N150 netbook coming up with Intel's new 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor in it. Now, before you get excited, note that the rest of the Samsung N150's specs don't exactly spell next-generation. It features a 10.1-inch screen with a native resolution of 1024x600, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a built-in card reader, USB ports, and other usual netbook ports/connectors. What may be its biggest difference from other netbooks announced recently with Intel's new N450 Atom processor is the fact that it uses Qualcomm's Gobi 2000 chipset, enabling it for use with global 3G networks and making it usable as a GPS for navigation. Interested yet?

Samsung probably plans on unveiling this new netbook at CES 2010. Pricing will likely start somewhere around $270 USD.
