Apple's Core i7-equipped iMacs having serious quality and performance issues
A lot of people usually equate the word quality with Apple and its computers, so news of the new i7-powered iMacs having performance and quality issues is sort of a big thing. Well, to a lot of fanboys swimming in Steve Jobs's famed reality distortion field, maybe, but in reality, it's nothing new. More often than not, the first batch or shipments of any Apple product ever released has major flaws, the kind of thing that would drive anyone who paid upwards of $1000 USD expecting top-notch quality insane.
The new Apple iMacs apparently have several hardware and performance issues. Some users of the Core 2 Duo 27-inch iMac are reportedly having performance issues, while Core i7 iMacs are showing up either completely dead and won't boot at all or with cracked screens along the bottom left corner. Not all of the new Apple iMacs are showing up broken--there are users who haven't had a single problem with theirs. But well, this sort of thing is inexcusable.
None of this is really surprising, though. When you're a multi-billion dollar computer company offering less than a total of five products in the desktop category and yet fail to keep the quality of your products in check, you need only to utter a total of three words: "It. Just. Works."
